Challenge
For the Games and Simulation capstone, students at Miami University are tasked to split up into teams and make games. My team of 7 had the challenge of figuring out what we all wanted to make, and making sure we all could stand by the message of our game. The team also has to do everything themselves so learning to manage time and produce was very important as well. After some time we eventually settled on our theme of fighting ai art. Without a doubt, any creative would love to punch a physical manifestation of ai art in the face! I was tasked with designing mechanics, designing levels, designing/mixing sounds, and drafting our QA test plans.
Solution
When designing the mechanics for this AI vs the humanity of art game, the team decided that it might be fun to use color theory. The mechanics I designed are just that. The player has two paint brushes, each of them cycle through the three primary colors. However, you can combine the two colors to create a secondary color. Through this color matching you fight enemies, use interactables, and movement tools. All only working if you match your color to theirs'. The gameplay flow feels like a first person shooter, but its more like a first person painter. Also, I mixed sound effects, mixed cutscenes, and drafted test plans for testing builds.

Look Forward to Primary Releasing In Early May!
